Vietnam's southern stock market ends up

VN-Index, the stock market index of Ho Chi Minh (HCM) City bourse in southern Vietnam, closed at 569.91 points on Wednesday, up 1.63 points, or 0.29 percent, against the previous trading day's closing session.

About 135.457 million shares worth 2.144 trillion Vietnamese dong (VND) (98.01 million U.S. dollars) changed hands at the southern HCM City Stock Exchange. Prices of 123 stocks went up, 97 stocks fell down, while 72 stocks remained unchanged.

VN30-Index, the new benchmark index for the southern bourse, which tracks the 30 leading stocks by both market capitalization and liquidity, closed at 577.11 points, up 1.95 points, or 0.34 percent.

A total of 42.708 million shares worth 957.84 billion VND (43.78 million U.S. dollars) were traded on Wednesday. Enditem
