Germany's benchmark DAX index rises slightly

The benchmark DAX index at Frankfurt Stock Exchange on Tuesday rose slightly and closed at 9,887.94 points.

San Francisco Federal Reserve President John Williams said on Tuesday in Singapore that he doesn't see a looming global crisis and the United States Economy was on track. The statement made by Williams partly attributed to the gains of the DAX index, according to local analysts. The DAX index gained 36.59 points, or 0.37 percent.

Vonovia, a real estate company, topped the list of risers with an increase of 2.43 percent. Fresenius, a health care company rose by 1.65 percent. Fresenius Medical Care advanced by 1.38 percent. Linde, an industrial gas company, climbed by 1.33 percent. Deutsche Telekom went up by 1.32 percent.

Deutsche Bank dropped by 1.6 percent. Volkswagen slipped by 1.57 percent. Commerzbank slid by 1.43 percent. Thyssenkrupp fell by 0.5 percent and the utilities company RWE went down by 0.46 percent.

Daimler was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 234.18 million euros (around 261.71 million U.S. dollars). Endit
