Slovak foreign policy should be pro-European, pro-Atlantic: new DM

Slovakia's foreign policy should be definitely pro-European and pro-Atlantic, announced new Slovak Defense Minister Peter Gajdos on Tuesday.

"I will perform my function with determination, professionalism and integrity. I'll strive for the most effective use of allocated financial resources," stressed Gajdos.

He pointed to the deteriorating security situation abroad, including extremism.

"I'm convinced that Slovak citizens deserve a responsibly prepared Slovak Armed Forces," added Gajdos, who served 41 years in the Slovak military and was Deputy Chief of General Staff before becoming minister this month. Endit
