Indonesian table tennis association said on Tuesday it would recruit naturalized foreign-born players as part of the country' s table tennis team to vie in the Asian Games in 2018.

Anton Suseno, secretary general of the association told reporters in Jakarta that the inclusion would strengthen the country' s team and boost the capability and skill of other Indonesian players, adding that the gap of capability between domestic and foreign players remain huge.

He also said that such measure has proven successful in other countries.

Indonesia is to host the regional sport event and preparing the country' s capital city Jakarta and another big city Palembang in South Sumatra as the location of the event. Endit
