Russia delivers 60 tons of humanitarian aid to Syria

Russia has sent 60 tons of humanitarian aid to the Hmeymim airbase in Syria, said the Russian center for reconciliation of opposing sides in Syria on Sunday.

Humanitarian convoys are also being formed, it said. Hmeymim is a Russian airbase in northwest Syria.

The Russian side said it had held a working session with Syrian Ministry for National Reconciliation for delivery of the humanitarian aid to towns and villages that have joined the cease-fire regime.

A cease-fire brokered by Russia and the United States, which came into force on Feb. 27, has brought relative calm to swathes of the war-ravaged country.

But reports said that fighting has broken out again among rival groups recently. Endi
