Chinese premier stresses renovation of rural electricity grid

Xinhua, March 25, 2016 Adjust font size:

Chinese Premier Li Keqiang has called for more support for a new round of renovation projects on rural electricity grid.

Li made the remarks in a written instruction to a meeting on such work.

The new round of projects to improve rural power grid is key to narrow public service gaps between the rural and urban areas and a key foundation to boost agricultural modernization and upgrade rural consumption, he noted.

It is an important move to boost effective investment and steady economic growth, he added.

Li urged governments at various levels to actively innovate investment and financing mechanisms and organize implementation of the projects meticulously.

He called on power grid enterprises to input more and improve management to ensure the projects can be finished in time with high quality for better agricultural and rural development. Endi
