-- President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday took stock of his performance for the past 10 months at the helm and concluded that he has effectively charted the course to tackle the myriad of problems bedeviling the nation. (The Guardian)

-- Boko Haram militants Wednesday abducted 16 women from Sabongari village in Madagali area of Adamawa State. Residents told Daily Trust correspondent that the women were fishing at the Magar River with some men when eight gunmen seized them. (Daily Trust)
