Air Malta chooses Dusseldorf for Brussels routes

Xinhua, March 24, 2016 Adjust font size:

Air Malta announced on Wednesday that it would choose Dusseldorf airport to substitute Brussels airport as the latter was still closed due to the terror attacks.

It was said that passengers booked to travel on Air Malta to and from Brussels starting from March 24 were being automatically rebooked to and from Dusseldorf.

The airline is to organize transportation between Brussels and Dusseldorf's airport and vice-versa.

"In such circumstances the airline does its utmost to facilitate travel arrangements and be of service to the community," said Air Malta's deputy chief commercial officer Joe Galea.

According to the latest information, Brussels airport will remain closed on Thursday and Friday.

At least 31 people were killed and 261 injured in explosions on Tuesday at the Brussels airport and on a city subway train close to the European Union institutions, according to the latest figures from the Belgian federal prosecutor. Endit
