Xinhua, March 23, 2016 Adjust font size:

As elsewhere in the world, Bangladesh Hindu community also Wednesday celebrated Holi, the festival of colors, fun and frolic.

The festival has brought more Hindus to the temples in old part of capital Dhaka than at almost any other normal day of the year.

Bengali Hindus observe Holi though Durga Puja, the ceremonial worship of the mother goddess, is one of their main important festivals.

Students at Dhaka University on Tuesday morning were seen got drenched in color, singing and dancing together.

Though its a Hindu festival some Muslims were also seen joining their Hindu friends celebrating Holi.

Hindus believe that Holi brings a message of unity and friendship and bridges the communal divide. Endit
