Xinhua, March 23, 2016 Adjust font size:

Tokyo stocks edged lower on Wednesday morning on widening concerns after the devastating terror attacks in Brussels, although losses were capped by a comparatively weak yen buoying the market's key export sector.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 6.73 points, or 0.04 percent, from Tuesday to 17,041.82.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, dropped 2.05 points, or 0.15 percent, to 1,367.88.

Notable decliners by the morning break comprised machinery, mining, and glass and ceramic product-linked shares. Endit
