Victoria Azarenka from Belarus is back into the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) top ten.

The updated WTA rankings on Monday placed Azarenka on the 8th place, displacing Russian Maria Sharapova from the top 10.

Belarus' number one player clinched her second BNP Paribas Open title in Indian Wells after earning a 6-4, 6-4 win over world number one Serena Williams of the United States on Sunday.

Before the start of the competition in Indian Wells Azarenka ranked 15th in the world. After the victory in the Indian Wells 2016 final the Belarusian garnered 3,595 points.

Azarenka and Williams may soon meet again. This week they will take part in another big tournament in Miami, the United States. Both the Belarusian and American players will open the tournament from the second round. Endi
