Indonesia to unveil new economic stimulus package

The Indonesian government plans to launch an economic stimulus package this week to lure foreign capital and prop up economic growth, a senior minister said here on Monday.

"Logistical matter is one of the main points (to be included) in the policies," Indonesia's Chief Economic Minister Darmin Nasution said at the State Palace.

The government has unveiled a series of economic stimulus package since last September in a bid to boost growth.

The country's GDP growth picked up to 5.04 percent at the final quarter of last year from 4. 74 percent at the previous three months.

This year, the government targets growth to reach 5.3 percent in Southeast Asia's largest economy.

The rupiah has continued to appreciate against the U.S. dollars so far this year. On Monday, the currency weakened to 13,160 against the greenback. Enditem
