The following are highlights of South African major media outlets on Monday.

-- The Democratic Alliance (DA) says it will request Public Protector Thuli Madonsela extend her investigation into President Jacob Zuma and the Guptagate scandal to include the latest "shocking revelations" by former Government Communication & Information System (GCIS) CEO Themba Maseko.

The DA would also be laying criminal charges against the Guptas for "attempt to improperly benefit from public resources". (Business Day)

-- The ANC National Executive Committee (NEC) has strongly condemned the apparent influence of the Gupta family on the party and the state, but has expressed confidence in President Jacob Zuma's leadership. (The Star)

-- Former ANC Youth League secretary-general Ronald Lamola has called on South Africans to rise up and demand the removal of President Jacob Zuma from office.
