Russian university rector detained amid abuse of power probe

Rector of the Russian Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) Sergey Ivanetc was detained on Monday in Vladivostok, the Russian news agency TASS reported.

The reason for the detention is not known yet. Law enforcement agencies refrained from comments, according to TASS.

The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation initiated criminal proceedings for abuse of power on March 14 against two vice rectors of FEFU, but it remains unclear whether the two cases are related. Endi
