Beijing Int'l Art Biennale 2017 soliciting contributions

Xinhua, March 18, 2016 Adjust font size:

The 7th Beijing International Art Biennale (BIAB) to be held in fall 2017 began soliciting contributions worldwide on Friday.

With "the Silk Road and world civilizations" as its theme, the BIAB 2017 will exhibit about 600 pieces of work.

Liu Dawei, one of the curators, said the biennale will mainly feature paintings and sculptures, supplemented by photographs and other artworks.

Contributions should be works less than five years old and echo the Silk Road spirit, particularly east-west communication in modern times.

Since its launch in 2003, the BIAB has exhibited works by nearly 4,000 artists and received more than 1,000,000 visitors. Endi
