Xi congratulates Htin Kyaw on election as Myanmar president

Chinese President Xi Jinping on Tuesday congratulated Htin Kyaw on his election as Myanmar president.

In his congratulatory message, Xi expressed the belief that Myanmar will make greater achievements in nation building and development under the leadership of Htin Kyaw.

China and Myanmar are neighbors and enjoy traditional friendship, and the deepening of good-neighborliness and mutually beneficial cooperation are in the fundamental interests of the two countries and peoples, Xi pointed out.

China is willing to work with Myanmar to carry forward the China-Myanmar comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership so as to bring more benefits to the two peoples, said Xi. Endi
