Vietnam, Laos strive to bring bilateral trade revenue to 3 bln USD by 2020

Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and his Lao counterpart Thongsing Thammavong on Wednesday agreed that the two countries will strive to bring the bilateral trade revenue to three billion U.S. dollars by 2020.

Dung and Thongsing Thammavong made the pledge while holding talks in Vietnam's capital Hanoi on Wednesday, the Vietnamese government's e-Portal reported.

The two sides agreed to further enhance high-level and all-level exchanges, boost cooperation activities among the two countries' localities and review Vietnam's investment projects in Laos to ensure their effectiveness.

Cooperation in transportation connectivity will also be further promoted with the implementation of a memorandum of understanding between the two countries in transportation during 2016-2025 period and its vision to 2030, the e-Portal quoted the two sides as saying.

On the same day, Lao Prime Minister Thongsing Thammavong also met with Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang in Hanoi. Enditem
