Vietnam to invest 800 mln USD in building southern expressway

Xinhua, March 16, 2016 Adjust font size:

Vietnam will build a 101 km expressway named Dau Giay-Phan Thiet with total investment of nearly 18,000 billion Vietnamese dong (some 800 million U.S. dollars), the country's Construction Ministry said Wednesday.

Construction of the expressway linking the southern province of Dong Nai with the central province of Ninh Thuan will start in early 2017 and finish in 2021. Once operational, it will shorten time needed to travel from Ho Chi Minh City to Phan Thiet city, Binh Thuan province.

The project's financial sources come from the state budget and private capital. More than half of the expressway is expected to be built under the investment mode of public-private partnership. Endit
