Former Nigeria head coach withdraws lawsuit against Nigeria FA

Xinhua, March 15, 2016 Adjust font size:

Former head coach of Nigeria's national soccer team Sunday Oliseh said on Tuesday he has implored his lawyers to withdraw a lawsuit against his erstwhile employers, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

The former national coach said he made his decision after being placated to do so by "some well-meaning Nigerians".

"I have instructed my lawyers to withdraw the lawsuit against the NFF," Oliseh said via his official Youtube account, the same medium through which he announced his resignation as coach of the national team two weeks ago.

Oliseh cited breach of contract including non-payment of salaries by his employers before his resignation.

He had threatened to sue the Nigeria FA early this month, after the local football governing body made claims the backlog of salaries owed him were cleared shortly before his resignation as coach. Endi
