French nationals among those killed in Cote d'Ivoire resort attack: Elysee

Four French nationals were killed in Sunday's attacks targeting a resort town in Cote d'Ivoire, President Francois Hollande's office, the Elysee, announced on Monday.
"Four French victims have now been reported," Hollande said in the statement issued by his presidential office.
In phone talks with President of Cote d'Ivoire Alasane Ouattara, the French head of state reiterated France's commitment to support Cote d'Ivoire in its battle against terrorism, urging West African states to reinforce their cooperation to eradicate Islamist insurgents.
French Foreign Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault and interior minister Bernard Cazeneuve would fly to Abidjan "to concretely demonstrate France's solidarity" with Cote d'Ivoire, the statement added.
On Sunday, armed men from al-Qaeda's North African wing AQIM killed 18 people during an attack on beach hotels in Grand Bassam near the capital of Cote d'Ivoire. Endit
