Xinhua, March 14, 2016 Adjust font size:

Olympic champion Jamie Anderson of the United States took the second place in the women's slopestyle semifinals at the World Snowboarding Championships held in Northeast China's Yabuli ski resort on Monday.

Anderson, who won the big air event on Monday, collected 81.65 points after her two runs, 0.65 points less than her old rival, Olympic silver medalist Enni Rukajarvi of Finland, who topped the semis with 82.30.

Britain's Katie Ormerod was third in 74.75.

In the men's semis, Canadian star Tyler Nicholson finished first in 88.90 points, 4.40 over Japan's Kadono Yuka, while American Eric Beauchemin came in third with 84.10.

Slopestyle, which was only accepted into the Olympic program in 2014, needs two jumps with the winner decided on the best jump.

No Chinese took part in the event.

The world snowboarding championships, organized by TTR Pro Snowboarding and World Snowboard Federation, features halfpipe, slopestyle and big air. The halfpipe event was canceled due to venue problems. Enditem
