Swedish anti-drugs force raids Stockholm apartment

Heavily armed police raided a Stockholm apartment on Saturday with two people detained and narcotics seized, local media reported.

The arrests were made in Solna north of the city center as part of a coordinated nationwide drugs raid, the daily newspaper Aftonbladet reported.

"They found narcotics in the apartment, and two people were arrested on suspicion of narcotics crimes," Stockholm police spokesperson Albin Naverberg told the public broadcaster Swedish Television.

A witness told the newspaper Expressen that around ten police armed with machine guns were on the scene at the time of the raid.

The Solna raid was carried out by a special anti-drugs force formed by the Stockholm police in 2014, the channel reported.

Meanwhile, Swedish police carried out drug raids in the town of Sodertalje south of the capital and in the southern city of Malmo, arresting at least two people, Aftonbladet reported.

In October, the Stockholm police's anti-drugs force arrested six people in the suburb of Husby on suspicions of drug dealing, Swedish Television reported. Endit
