Prostitution ring busted in cross-Strait collaboration

The Chinese mainland and Taiwan have collaborated to uncover a cross-Strait prostitution ring with two suspects from Taiwan apprehended on the mainland, Taiwan authorities said Friday.
By exchanging information with the mainland's public security agencies, Taiwan authorities managed to bust the criminal gang in mid-December last year after an eight-month investigation and capture two suspects, including a 36-year-old male.
The suspects were handed over to the Taiwan side on Wednesday.
Using pretexts like getting married in Taiwan or business inspections, the gang helped women from the mainland enter Taiwan to engage in prostitution, the authorities said.
The gang based its operation both in Taiwan and the mainland city of Shenzhen in southern Guangdong province. Endi
