Xinhua, March 10, 2016 Adjust font size:

Chinese exhibitors have gathered to promote "Silk Road Tourism" in China as the 50th Berlin International Tourism Fair (ITB) kicked off here on Wednesday.

Over the next four days, tourism services and firms from Beijing, Tianjin, Yunnan, Shanghai, Shandong as well as other provinces, will show their services under the theme "Beautiful China 2016 -- Year of Silk Road Tourism."

At the opening of promotion show at China booth, photos were displayed to showcase China's top scenic places.

This year's China show also had a strong involvement of technology in the travel sector, with presence of Chinese online providers such as Baidu, Tuniu and hotel consolidator Shenzhen Dida Travel, among others.

A networking event -- ITB Chinese Night, has been scheduled at this year's fair in order to facilitate interested access to the Chinese travel market.

ITB Berlin is expected to attract some around 10,000 companies from 187 countries and regions this year to present their products and services on 1,069 booths with the latest products and trends in the global tourism industry from March 9-13. Endite
