Singapore, Iran ministers exchange views on developments of Middle East

Iran's Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammad Javad Zarif, who is on an official visit to Singapore, called on Minister for Foreign Affairs Vivian Balakrishnan and the two exchanged views on bilateral relations and recent developments in Middle East on Tuesday.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Singapore said that Minister Zarif briefed Minister Balakrishnan on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on Iran's nuclear program. Minister Balakrishnan urged Iran to abide by its various international obligations and to continue its cooperation with the international community.

"Both Ministers agreed that Iran's full compliance with its international obligations will help ensure its integration with the global community," MFA added.

As part of his official program, Minister Zarif also called on Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for Economic and Social Policies Tharman Shanmugaratnam and Speaker of Parliament Halimah Yacob on Tuesday, according to MFA. Enditem
