Total solar eclipse to darken Indonesian cities

Several provinces in Indonesia will experience a total solar eclipse on Wednesday, an expert said Tuesday.
Head of Indonesia's National Institute of Aeronautics and Space Thomas Djamaluddin said Tuesday 11 provinces across the archipelago included Bengkulu, Jambi, South Sumatra, Bangka Belitung, West Kalimatan, Central Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, West Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi, and North Maluku.
The total solar eclipse will only happen two minutes from 07:20 a.m. to 07: 22 a.m. Jakarta time, Harry Untoro, expert of staff for multicultural department in the country's tourism ministry has said.
Over 100 yachts from foreign countries are scheduled to parade during the rare event, and hundreds of scientists and foreign tourists will visit the country and observe the eclipse.
Indonesia is home to over 17,500 islands with great cultural and ethnic diversities. Foreign tourist arrivals grew by 5.81 percent to 10.017 million in 2015 with the government targeting the figure to double in four years. Endit
