1st LD Writethru: 3 killed in crude bomb blast in eastern India

Xinhua, March 8, 2016 Adjust font size:

At least three persons have been killed in a crude bomb explosion in the eastern Indian state of West Bengal Tuesday, a senior police official said.

"The incident happened in the state's Murshidabad district when some local criminals were loading a huge cache of crude bombs in three containers. While three persons were killed on the spot, another person suffered minor injuries," he said on condition of anonymity.

Police rushed to the spot and seized the three containers, he said, adding that a probe has been ordered into the incident.

The state goes to polls next week and it is suspected that some local parties might be behind the making of the crude bombs to use them to scare voters. Endit
