Russian Bobrova banned from World Figure-Skating Championships

Xinhua, March 8, 2016 Adjust font size:

Russian ice dancer Yekaterina Bobrova was banned from the forthcoming World Figure-Skating Championships in the United States after she had been tested positive for doping, the Russian Figure-Skating Federation announced Monday.

"Russian national champions Yekaterina Bobrova and (her partner) Dmitry Solovyov will have to miss the world championship. We have no right to comment on reasons why they will not be included in the bidding list until the investigation is over," the federation said on its official website.

It was reported that a banned drug Meldonium, which was put on the banning list by the World Anti-Doping Agency from this year, had been found in Bobrova's blood test.

Bobrova and Solovyov won the 2014 Olympic champions in team competitions and the silver medals of the 2013 World Championships. Endit
