China's Zhang wins 25m Rapid Fire Pistol gold at 2016 ISSF Rifle and Pistol World Cup

China's 22-year-old shooter Zhang Fusheng won the 25m Rapid Fire Pistol gold medal at the 2016 ISSF Rifle and Pistol World Cup here on Monday.

Currently ranking 22nd in the world, Zhang Fusheng beat his teammate Li Yuehong by an one-hit-advantage to win the final with the final score of 29 hits. Vietnam's Ha Minh Thanh, 30, finished third with 23 hits.

"I was very confident in today's final. I have been training a lot and I was not stressed during the match," said Zhang according to ISSF website.

Zhang hopes to secure a spot in national team for Rio 2016 since China has two Olympic quotas.

China is topping the medal standings with five golds, and Brazil, Denmark, Germany and India respectively has one.

Tuesday's 50m Rifle 3 Positions Men final will be the last match of the 2016 ISSF Rifle and Pistol World Cup in Bangkok. Endit
