Olympic champion Guo wins women's 10m air pistol at World Cup

Two-time Olympic champion Guo Wenjun secured the women's 10m air pistol gold medal for China at the ISSF Rifle and Pistol World Cup here Sunday evening.
The Beijing 2008 and London 2012 champion managed for a margin of 0.6 points prior to the last two shots, before her chief rival Tien Chia Chen of Chinese Taipei had an unexpected 8.3 points in her last shot. Guo finished with a winning score of 199.8 points, two points ahead of Tien.
Guo's teammate Zhang Mengxue collected the bronze medal with 177.8 points.
"Every time I win a medal, I put it at home, and never look at it again. Every competition is a new start," said Guo on her previous Olympic outings.
"To prepare for my third Olympics, I'm trying to improve my handling of the psychological aspects of the game," she added.
China's Zhang Binbin placed third in the women's 50m rifle 3 positions. Jolyn Beer of Germany won the event, beating top-ranked Snjezana Pejcic of Croatia with 455.9 points.
The men's 25m rapid fire pistol will be the only medal event on Monday. Endit
