Bangladesh earns over 22 bln USD from exports in 1st 8 months of FY 2015-16

Bangladesh's total exports in the first eight months of the current 2015-16 fiscal year (from July 2015 to June 2016) reached over 22 billion U.S. dollars, up about 9 percent from the same period a year ago, official data showed Sunday.

According to the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) data, Bangladesh fetched 22,123.75 million U.S. dollars from exports in the first eight months of the current fiscal year.

The EPB data showed export performance for February was 2,854.22 million U.S. dollars, 13.60 percent up from a year earlier.

Bangladesh export income in the 2014-2015 fiscal year grew at a moderate rate of over 6 percent year-on-year to 31.21 billion U.S. dollars.

The country set its export target in 2015-2016 fiscal year at 33.50 billion U.S. dollars. Endit
