The event feature 32 singles players from around the world, including India's Yuki Bhambriand and Georgia's Nikoloz Basilashvili, who are ranked in the ATP's top 100.

Alongside Zhang, Bai Yan, Li Zhe and Wu Di, all from China, have also entered the Zhuhai event, which is being played on hard courts.

"This ATP Challenger Tour event not only helps Chinese players prepare for the Rio Olympics, but also provides an opportunity to us to earn ATP ranking points," said Li.

The top tier of men's tennis is the ATP World Tour, and Challenge Tour events are the second highest level of competition. Endi
