1st LD: DPRK condemns UN resolution, warns of resolute measures

Xinhua, March 4, 2016 Adjust font size:

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on Friday strongly condemned the new resolution adopted by the UN Security Council, warning to take resolute measures against it, according to two statements issued respectively by the government and the foreign ministry.

The new resolution, which further tightens sanctions against the DPRK, was the "worst and most explicit international crime act that aims to isolate and stifle the defensive and just sovereign state," the statements said.

The resolution severely threatens the DPRK's sovereignty and poses a frontal challenge to the DPRK's just cause, added the statement issued by the spokesman for the government.

The DPRK therefore firmly rejects the resolution and will take "resolute counter-measures," which include "strong and merciless physical counter-measures," it said. Endi
