Rockets beat visiting Pelicans

Xinhua, March 3, 2016 Adjust font size:

Thanks to James Harden's 39 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists, the Houston Rockets outscored the New Orleans Pelicans 100-95 at the Toyota Center on Wednesday night.

Frankly speaking, the two teams had poor performance, struggling mightily with ball control and making a total of 43 turnovers. After giving up the first quarter to the visiting team 25:28, the Rockets led 53:52 at half time. In the second half, the Rockets finished the third quarter 23:24 and ended up with a 5-point winning margin.

Besides Harden, the Rockets should also thank their point guard Patrick Beverley, who had a 3-pointer from the corner that gave the Rockets a lead with less than a minute remaining.

For the Rockets, Dwight Howard scored 16 points and Beverley added 15 points.

Norris Cole led the Pelicans with 21 points, Dante Cunningham had 16 points, while Eric Gordon and Ryan Anderson each added 14 points. Endit
