South Korean Park Jinwoo finished head of the class after the opening day at the OneAsia Qualifying School on Tuesday at Sutera Harbor Golf and Country Club.

He carded a four-under-par 67 while Australians Michael Choi and Jamie Arnold tied for second with 69s.

Park toured the front nine in two-under with birdies on six and seven. He dropped his only shot of the day on the par-five 11th but responded to that in the perfect way by making birdie on 12, 14 and 17.

Englishman Oliver Roberts is in outright fourth after shooting a 71 with South Koreans Youm Eunho and Lee Hogeon are one stroke further back.

One of the pre-tournament favorites Antonio Murdaca from Australia shot a 74 to sit in a tie for 12th.

Murdaca turned professional last year after a fine amateur career highlighted by victory in the 2014 Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship and the Australian Boys Amateur the year before.

The 72-hole qualifying school will finish on Friday.

OneAsia will stage at least nine events this year with the winner of the Qualifying School eligible for all tournaments while players ranked second and third will be exempt for most events.

Players finishing from fourth to 20th spot will be eligible for membership and be exempt for some tournaments.

In addition, graduates will gain even greater access to tournament golf in the region following an exciting new tie up with the ASEAN PGA Tour.

The top-15 from the Qualifying School will be eligible to play in four ASEAN PGA events played in Thailand in 2016.

The tournament's are the Singha Hua Hin Open, the Singha Pattaya Open, the Singha Esan Open and the Singha Phuket Open.

These tournaments have long been some of the leading events on the ASEAN PGA Tour and are promoted by Sports Management Group (SMG) in Thailand.

Lee Jun Seok from Australia won the Qualifying School when it was last held at Sutera Harbour in 2014 and went on to place sixth on that year's OneAsia Order of Merit with winnings of 156,566 US dollars.

OneAsia begins this year with the Volvo China Open at Topwin Golf & Country Club from April 28 to May 1. Endi
