Tokyo shares rebound on upbeat China stocks

Tokyo shares ended higher Tuesday as upbeat sentiment brought by firm Shanghai stocks helped the Tokyo market rebound higher.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average edged up 58.75 points, or 0.37 percent, from Monday at 16,085.51.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was up 2.98 points, or 0.23 percent, to 1,300.83.

Gainers were led by real estate, construction and food issues.

The turnover was about 2,148.1 billion yen (about 19.08 billion U.S. dollars). Enditem
