Iran says to assist Palestinians within legal framework

Iran will continue its legal help to Palestinians, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hossein Jaber Ansari said on Monday.
"Iran has supported the resistance of Palestinians against the occupation of Israel since the victory of the Islamic revolution in Iran in 1979," Jaber Ansari told reporters in his weekly press conference.
"The assistance is offered within the legal framework and in accordance with the agreements between Iran and the legitimate representatives of Palestine," he said as a response to the recent remarks of the Palestinian officials.
According to the WAFA news agency, the Palestinian president's spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeinah on Saturday described Iran's intention of delivering funds to Palestinian families as a "flagrant intrusion into internal Palestinian and Arab affairs."
"It would have been better if Iran would send its funds to the Palestinian institution responsible for Palestine's heroes and their families, rather than resorting to crooked ways and illegal means," said the spokesman.
He slammed the remarks of international adviser for the Iranian Shura Council Hussein Sheikh al-Islam, the one saying Iran would not transfer money to martyrs of the current uprising through the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) because it is "dishonest".
Sheikh al-Islam made the remarks on Saturday to the Palestinian Alresalah online news, which has a closely link with the Islamic Hamas movement.
Iranian Ambassador to Lebanon Mohammad Fatah Ali said last week that Iran would provide funds to the families of the Palestinians killed during the conflicts with Israel since last October.
The ambassador said each family would receive 7,000 U.S. dollars, while each of those whose house was demolished would receive 30,000 dollars. Endit
