At least 30 people were killed and 42 others injured in twin blasts which hit popular restaurants in Baidoa town in the south-central bay region of Somalia, local officials said Monday.

Mayor of Bay region Abdirashid Abdullahi told Xinhua by phone that most of the killed are civilians. "The death toll has risen to 30 with 42 others injured, the explosions took place at busy restaurants in the city," Abdullahi said. (Somalia-Blasts)

THE HAGUE -- At least 30 suspects of felonies such as war crimes were found among refugees who came to the Netherlands in 2015, State Secretary for Security and Justice Klaas Dijkhoff said in a briefing on Monday.

A special group within the Dutch Immigration and Naturalization Service in 2015 investigated 170 refugees, including 60 Syrians. Enough evidence was found against 10 Syrians and 20 others, mainly from Eritrea, Nigeria, Sudan and Georgia, to classify them as suspect. (Netherlands-Refugees)

KUNDUZ, Afghanistan -- Six militants and one civilian were killed as clashes erupted in Dasht-e-Archi district of the northern Kunduz province on Monday, a local official said.

"The clash flared up in the wee hours of Monday in Pul-e-Momin area and lasted for a while, leaving six militants and one civilian dead," district governor Nasrudin Nazari told Xinhua. (Afghanistan-Clashes)

ISLAMABAD -- At least one officer was killed as a helicopter of Pakistan army crashed in the country's northwest district of Haripur on Monday evening, the military said.

A statement from the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), a mouthpiece of the Pakistan army, said that the incident took place when an Mi-17 helicopter of the Pakistan Army Aviation crashed in Tarbela area of Haripur in the country's northwest province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. BAQUBA, Iraq -- At least seven people were killed and 15 others wounded on Monday in a suicide bomb attack at a funeral tent in a village in Iraq's eastern province of Diyala, a provincial security source told Xinhua.

The attack occurred in the afternoon when a suicide bomber wearing an explosive vest detonated himself at a funeral ten in the Shiite village of Brishtah, some 100 km northeast of the Iraqi capital of Baghdad, the source said on condition of anonymity. (Iraq-Suicide Bomb Attack)

BAGHDAD -- The death toll from back-to-back bombings at a busy marketplace in Baghdad on Sunday, claimed by the Islamic State (IS) group, climbed to 53, an Iraqi Interior Ministry source said on Monday.
