Croatia's GDP rose by 1.6 percent in 2015

Croatia's GDP (gross domestic product) in 2015 went up by 1.6 percent, compared with 2014, National Bureau of Statistics (DZS) said in estimates on Friday.

GDP in the fourth quarter of 2015 increased by 1.9 percent compared with same period in 2014, while it fell by 0.5 percent comparing with the third quarter of the year, DZS director Marko Kristof said.

The positive contribution mainly came from the manufacturing industry, retail and agriculture, while the construction sector recorded falls.

Domestic demand increased, while household consumption went up by 2.4 percent in the fourth quarter compared with 2014.

However, Croatia's GDP growth was lower than the EU average of 1.8 percent. Endit
