Chinese ambassador presents credential letters to Madagascar's president

Yang Xiaorong presented Thursday her credential letters to Madagascar's President Hery Rajaonarimampianina as Chinese ambassador to Madagascar.

"The President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping accredited me as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China in the Republic of Madagascar," Yang told Hery Rajaonarimampianina at Iavoloha state palace, 15 km south of Madagascar's capital.

"I am honored to receive the credential letters accrediting you as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Madagascar. I wish you welcome to Madagascar and also to your family and we are here to assist you during your stay," President Hery said.

After the official ceremony, the new ambassador told Xinhua that her mission is to strengthen cooperation between the two countries and between the two peoples.

"China attaches great importance to relations with Madagascar. Despite the geographical distance between the two countries, the two peoples are united by an old friendship. And relations between the two countries have developed very quickly. We must work together to strengthen the friendship, mutual and beneficial relationship for both countries," Yang said.

Born in 1962, Yang replaces Yang Min who went to China. Endit
