Xinhua, February 25, 2016 Adjust font size:

The Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee on Thursday held the 40th meeting of its chairman and vice chairpersons.

Attendees heard a report on preparations for the Fourth Session of the 12th CPPCC National Committee, an annual session scheduled for early March.

Presiding over the meeting, Yu Zhengsheng, chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, stressed the importance of the session as 2016 was the first year in the final stage of building a moderately prosperous society.

Yu urged political advisors to grasp the current situation and contribute "constructive" ideas to the 2016-2020 development plan and ensure that the policies set by central authorities are implemented.

The meeting approved a decision to remove Chu Ping from the post of vice director of the economic committee of the CPPCC National Committee and expel him from the CPPCC National Committee. Endi
