China building military logistical facilities in Djibouti

Construction has begun for China's logistical facilities in Djibouti supporting its troops' escorting of ships in the Gulf of Aden and waters off the Somali coast.

Under a deal reached between China and Djibouti, the facilities will also help Chinese troops carry out international peacekeeping operations and perform humanitarian rescues, Wu Qian, spokesperson for China's Ministry of National Defense, told a monthly press briefing Thursday. Endi
