Hamburg's midfielder Albin Ekdal will be sidelined with an ankle injury for the time being, the "HSV" announced on Wednesday.

The Sweden international suffered an injury blow on his way to recovery after sustaining a capsular injury in his right ankle during Tuesday's training.

Ekdal just returned from a four-month injury break and will definitely miss the encounter against newly promoted Ingolstadt on Saturday. His injury will be re-evaluated at the beginning of the next week.

The 26-year-old midfielder joined Hamburg in the summer 2015 after signing a four-year deal. He made eight appearances since his arrival.

Hamburg sit on the 12th place and face newly promoted Ingolstadt at the 23rd round in Bundesliga on Saturday. Endit
