Tornadoes kill 3, injure over 30 others in southern U.S. states

Tornadoes slammed the U.S. states of Louisiana, Mississippi and Florida Tuesday afternoon, killing at least three people and injuring more than 30 others.

At least seven tornadoes hit southeast Louisiana, southwest Mississippi and Florida, according to local TV station ABC13.

In Convent, Louisiana, two people were killed and more than 30 others were injured, including seven in critical condition, after a tornado destroyed a trailer park, which is home to more than 300 people. Power supply to tens of thousands of residents in the state was cut off.

In Lamar County, Mississippi, one person was killed. Six people were injured in Pensacola, Florida.

Meanwhile, in Slidell, the largest city situated on the northeast shore of Lake Pontchartrain and St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana, a lightning strike hit the building where the weather service is located, knocking out the radar systems. Endi
