Results released by Uganda's Electoral Commission on Saturday showed that incumbent President Yoweri Museveni has won the country's general elections.

ATHENS -- Another five flu sufferers lost their lives of complications within the past 24 hours, taking the death toll from the start of January to 115, experts of the Greek Center for Disease Control and Prevention (KEELPNO) said on Friday.

According to the latest data, a total of 356 patients have been treated in intensive care units (ICUs) throughout the country, including 118 people who are still hospitalized in the units. (Greece-Flu)

SRINAGAR, Indian-controlled Kashmir -- At least two paramilitary troopers of India's Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were killed and nine others wounded Saturday after militants attacked their convoy in Indian-controlled Kashmir, officials said.

The attack took place at Pampore town of Pulwama district, about 24 km south of Srinagar city, the summer capital of Indian-controlled Kashmir. (India-Kashmir-Militants)

QALA-E-NAW, Afghanistan -- Up to 20 Taliban militants have been killed in the western Badghis province over the past two days, an army spokesman in the province said on Saturday.

"A cleanup operation involving units of national army and police was launched in parts of Badghis province on Friday and so far 20 armed Taliban have been killed and 13 others injured," Shir Hamza told Xinhua. (Afghanistan-Taliban Militants)

TEHRAN -- Turkey's initiative for the enforcement of a no-fly zone over Syria is "a repetition of mistakes" raised by the West in the past, a senior Iranian official was quoted as saying by Tasnim news agency Saturday.

"The solution to the Syrian crisis, which has negatively affected regional security, is merely political," Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said. (Iran-Turkey-No-fly Zone) Endi
