Gilmar Rinaldi, general coordinator for the Brazilian national soccer team, has confirmed that Benfica striker Jonas is being observed by selecao coach Dunga and his technical commission.

The former Gremio and Valencia striker is in fine form, having netted 25 times this season for the Portuguese club as the top scorer in the league.

Rinaldi confirmed in an interview with Portuguese newspaper A Bola that Jonas could return to international football.

"Like all good players, Jonas is being observed by the CBF (Brazilian Football Confederation) and by the coach. Just don't ask me... if he's going to be called up for the matches against Uruguay and Paraguay," he said.

Brazil will take on their South America rivals at the end of March. Both matches are qualifiers for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, to be held in Russia. Endit
