Suspected plane debris found in Vietnam

Xinhua, February 19, 2016 Adjust font size:

Vietnamese authorities have been examining a debris suspected of being part of a plane, local media reported Friday.

The military command of Van Ninh District, Khanh Hoa province (in the southern part of central Vietnam) has examined the debris found by a local fisherman in Dai Lanh Commune, and initially thought that it came from an aircraft, daily newspaper Tuoi Tre Thanh pho Ho Chi Minh (Ho Chi Minh City Youth) quoted Vo Hoan Hai, Secretary of the district's Party Committee, as saying.

The 41-year-old fisherman Le Tan Binh said he found the aluminum debris with 3.1 meters in length, and nearly 100 km in weight on Feb. 11 off Khanh Hoa's coast some 42 nautical miles. Being busy working on the sea, he did not report the case to local authorities.

On Feb. 17, a group of photographers came to Dai Lanh to take photos, heard about the debris and reported to local press.

Binh is still keeping the mental piece at his house, local newspaper Tien Phong (Pioneer) reported Friday. Enditem
