Algerian troops kill two militants

Xinhua, February 18, 2016 Adjust font size:

Algerian troops on Wednesday killed two armed militants and retrieved two submachine guns in Boumerdes province, 60 km east of Algiers, the Defense Ministry said in a statement.

The two militants were killed in an underway anti-terrorism operation, the source said, adding that arms were retrieved and a bunker was destroyed.

Earlier last month, Algerian security forces arrested 32 members of a terrorist group affiliated to Daesh in Boumerdes, who were heading to Syria and fight with local Jihadist groups.

Militants affiliated to terrorist groups are still taking refuge in the woods of central provinces, including Boumerdes, Tizi Ouzou and Bouira. Endit
