British FTSE 100 rises 2.87 pct on Wednesday

FTSE 100 Index, the British benchmark stock market gauge, Wednesday rose by 2.87 percent, or 168.15 points, to close at 6,030.32 points.

Share price of Anglo American increased by 17.62 percent, topping the gainers of the blue chips. Glencore, Antofagasta, Aberdeen Asset Management and Rolls-Royce Holdings increased by 16.56 percent, 8.58 percent, 8.30 percent and 7.36 percent respectively.

There were just two losers among the blue chips on the day, including Severn Trent (0.52 percent) and National Grid (0.02 percent). Endit
