Klizan claims victory in Rotterdam

Martin Klizan won the 43rd edition of the ABN Amro World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam on Sunday.
The 26-year-old unseeded Slovakian, who ranked 43rd in the world, beat the 29-year-old Frenchman Gael Monfils, who ranked 18th in the world, in three sets in the final of the indoor hardcourt ATP World Tour event.
After losing the first set in a tiebreak, Klizan bounced back from 3-3 in the second set to outclass his opponent 6-7 (1), 6-3, 6-1.
Klizan became the first Slovakian winner of the Rotterdam tournament. He captured his 4th ATP tournament victory after his wins in St. Petersburg (2012), Munich (2014) and Casablanca (2015).
In the semi-finals, Klizan beat French qualifier Nicolas Mahut 6-7 (3), 7-6(7), 6-2, while 5th seeded Monfils defeated German Philipp Kohlschreiber 6-3, 6-2. Endit
